What Do I Offer?

1. eBook & Print book Design, Format & Conversion

I take your manuscript. I study it to select the right fit for its formatting. Then I format and convert it, as of the requirements of publishing platform.

I convert your file into one or more of the following formats:

mobi (Kindle) – .mobi is the format Amazon use on their Kindle. You can upload the mobi file directly to Amazon, or add it to your Kindle.

ePub (iOS- iPhone, iPad, Nook, Google play, Android, Nokia) - epub files are used by every other ebook reader (and ebook retailers like B&N and Apple).

Smashwords – While Smashwords is useful to get your book into multiple ebook stores, it’s processing software can be rather sensitive to even the slightest problem in your Word document. I will create a clean Word file that will have NO problems getting through the Meatgrinder process, and add the required Smashwords notices to your title page. Your book will be accepted for premium category.

CreateSpace – I will provide you with a PDF ready to upload to CreateSpace.

NOTE: This is for your manuscript only – I do NOT do the cover personally. If you want, I can get it done by others.

2. Publish your book on different platforms

Why ME?

Unlike some formatters, I don’t use software to convert your book automatically. That rarely works well, and can cause all manner of problems. Every book I format is done by manual coding, first converting your manuscript to HTML, then manually cleaning it up to make sure there are no hidden problems (and believe us, Word likes to hide all sorts of junk in your manuscript!) At this stage I also take the time to fix common issues like tabs or spaces at the start of paragraphs (these are converted to automatic indents), multiple spaces, convert three full-stops to ellipses, etc. Once I have a clean, problem-free file, only then I convert it into the format(s) that you want.

The end result? Your ebook will be a small, optimized file that won’t have any of the glitches or other problems that an automated tool can create, and will display exactly how it should, while your print book will look professionally and consistently formatted throughout the entire book.

I also work with you to format the book exactly how you want it to look. Want certain sections in the Kindle version to start on a new page? No problem. Need something special done with the table of contents (or don’t want a table of contents)? I can do that. Have a specific style you want to use for chapter headings? Easily handled. Before I start work I may ask you a series of questions to make sure I know exactly what you want. And if it isn’t quite right the first time, I’ll work with you until it is!

Finally, I realize that down the line you may find a few typos that need to be fixed, or you may want to add/update a page with details on your other works. I’m happy to take care of that (see FAQ for details).
